Renting in Singapore

Searching for an apartment can be difficult and time consuming especially if you are a foreigner first time living in Singapore. However, the whole process can be easy and smoothed if you have a friendly and reliable salesperson to assist you to look for the perfect home. We have prepare some guides to start with.

Budget – Start with a budget in mind to kickstart your search for the type of property to rent. For a budget of $4,000- $10,000 you could secure a decent 2 to 3 bedrooms apartment in central or city fringe area.

For an unit size about 900 sq ft to 1,300 sqft the rent can range from $4,000 to $7,000 (depending on region/district). With a budget of $8,000- $11,000 you could a rent a 4 bedroom luxurious apartment located near MRT, with full condo facilities including a gym, swimming pool and tennis court or even a Penthouse unit with concierge service! For a budget of $15,000 – $30,000, you can go for luxurious condominium near Orchard or landed houses with 4-6 bedrooms.

Fully Furnished or Partially Furnished – Most rental units come either fully furnished, partially furnished or unfurnished. You need to decide if you require a place with or without furniture to continue your search, as fully furnished units will cost more than unfurnished properties.

Fully furnished means the Landlord will provide refrigerator, washer and some essential electric appliances like microwave oven and television.

Partially furnished apartments generally come with curtains, lightings and some other loose items and white goods. However, every unit is different, do inform your consultant of your needs.
